The Ethical Considerations for Coaching With Integrity
If you have ever felt you’re on challenging ground with a client, wondered about client “red flags”, or pondered whether your back-end systems align with ethical best-practices, this short but impactful course is just what you need.
In this new offering from CATI, you’ll cover the basics of the applicable Codes of Ethics — both CATI’s and ICF’s — look at case studies of fictional client dilemmas for discussion, and review the newly updated Recognizing & Respecting the Lines book. You’ll walk away with increased confidence in your ability to handle ethical challenges in your coaching engagements.
NOTE: Coaching Essentials is a prerequisite for this course.
This course meets the minimum 3 hours of Ethics required for all Foundation Students, and for recertification of credentials. Students may also choose to take the free ICF Ethics course to meet this requirement.

The training
Get clarity on the best ethical practices for you and your clients.
This course covers Codes of Ethics applicable to our students and their clients, and offers opportunities to discuss and wrestle with the ethical dilemmas that may occur in a coaching engagement.
Additionally, students will learn to recognize when and how a referral to a different professional may be the appropriate course of action.

Class Format
Online, live sessions via Zoom with discussion, and written reflection posts outside of class.
Time Commitment
Three consecutive Wednesdays, for 1 hour each. The instructor will be available for 15 minutes after class for additional questions. No Skills Building Groups for this course.

May I take Coaching Ethics & Integrity at any time?
You may take this course any time after completing Coaching Essentials. In order to meet the ICF requirement of 3 hours of Ethics, you may choose to take this course OR the ICF Ethics course.

What are the outside of class assignments?
There are 1-2 brief pre-class assignments, some reading assignments for class discussion, and three forum posts. There are no Skills Building Groups in this course.
